Common Pricing Questions

Is there a long-term contract?

No. All SmartBook Contractor tiers are month-to-month. You can cancel with 30 days' written notice at any time. We earn your business every month — not with a locked contract.

Is there a setup fee?

Yes, there is a one-time onboarding fee of $500 for all tiers. This covers account setup, QBO or Sage configuration, and your first-month books review. If your books need cleanup before we can begin ongoing service, that is a separate engagement starting at $1,500.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my tier?

Yes. You can move to a higher tier at any time — upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades require 30 days' notice and take effect at the start of the following month.

What accounting software do you use?

We primarily work in QuickBooks Online (QBO), which is the industry standard for contractor bookkeeping and integrates with most payroll and project management tools. We also support Sage 50 for contractors who are already established on that platform.

What if I need something not listed?

Contact us for a custom quote. We handle everything from forensic bookkeeping and audit support to one-time financial statement preparation for bonding applications. If it involves contractor accounting in the Rio Grande Valley, we have likely done it.
