Our Story
20+ Years Serving RGV Small Businesses
National Bookkeeping Company was founded in McAllen, Texas, to serve the small businesses that make up the backbone of the Rio Grande Valley economy. Over two decades, we have grown alongside our clients — from solo operators running one crew to established general contractors managing multi-million-dollar public contracts.
Contractors represent a significant portion of our client base, and we have invested deeply in understanding the accounting challenges that are specific to construction: job costing, certified payroll, subcontractor documentation, progress billing, and bond-ready financial statements. These are not general bookkeeping skills — they are construction accounting skills, and they are what we bring to every contractor engagement.
Our team is bilingual — English and Spanish — and fully local. We are certified in QuickBooks Online and Sage 50, the two platforms most widely used by contractors in the Rio Grande Valley. We also work with ATX for tax coordination support alongside our CPA partners.
Importantly: we are not a tax firm. We do not prepare or file tax returns. What we do is make sure your books are clean enough that your CPA can file accurately, on time, and without surprises. Tax coordination — not tax preparation — is our lane. It is the lane where most contractors need the most help.
